My family really dislikes traditional ice trays - they're flimsy and take up too much space. We needed something vertical and sturdy. This ice maker cup was affordable, so we gave it a shot. It's a rubbery sleeve with a plastic cup inside. Each batch of ice is just enough for one drink, and you can keep making more and store it in the cup. It's durable and freezes quickly. It's easy to use too, just pour water into the sleeve, insert the cup, and it's good to go. The only downside is sometimes the cup is hard to remove after freezing, and there's a bit of bulging at the bottom. But it's great if you don't need a lot of ice and have a small freezer.
I get the frustrations some people have about releasing the ice. It's not super easy at first, but you'll get the hang of it. I roll it on the counter a few times and then the inner part comes out pretty easily. It's not great for storing ice though, as they tend to stick together. But, it makes enough ice for a big glass of tea, which is perfect for my daily use.
Good choice for a silicone ice cube tray! The ice cubes come out about the size of a nickel. The only issue is with filling it up, as the inner tub pushes up unless you get the air out from the bottom. Also, a thin layer of ice forms on the bottom, so you get both ice and random large chunks. Other than that, it's a great product.
It was bigger than I expected when it arrived. It's pretty straightforward to use – fill it, freeze it, and squeeze to release the ice. The only issue I had was with filling it up, as the spaces for the water are quite small.
It works, I bought two of them.
The cube size is nice and the concept is cool, but it only makes enough ice for one glass. The ice tends to stick to the inner cup and sometimes clumps together.
I use this every day since I love ice in my drinks. It's super easy to use and makes the perfect amount of ice. It doesn’t take up much space in the freezer either.
Got this for my daughter's dorm. She loves it, says it makes ice in 1.5-2 hours, and the storage cup is really handy.
It took me a bit to figure out how to use it, but once I did, it works great, especially for camping or college dorms with small fridges.
It's smaller than I thought but makes enough ice for two medium cups or one large one. I don't recommend storing ice in it as it tends to freeze together. Just make new ice each time.
I love the size and it's easy to fill and pour into tumblers, which is why I bought it. But the lid tends to float up and doesn't screw on, so I have to put weight on it in the freezer.
I usually don't write reviews, but I really like this. I use a measuring cup to pour water in and keep the cup down with weights for the first batch. After freezing, squeeze the container to get the ice out. It's great for single use but maybe not for a large family.
Squeezing the container gives you crushed ice, but the best part is the giant ice disk at the bottom. Break it in half and drop it into your drink – it's awesome. You can even drink straight from it, perfect for the pool.
This makes really good ice, perfect if you can't afford a fancy ice maker. It's great for nugget ice lovers!
There's a bit of a learning curve. I know it takes 200 ml of water. Just pour it in, put the plastic insert, and use rubber bands to keep the lid from rising. Set a 4-hour timer, and you've got ice. I keep a second one ready when I use the first.
Great quality and easy to make ice.
Bought this for my girlfriend who doesn’t have an ice maker. She uses it for her shakes and absolutely loves it. It makes and stores a decent amount of ice. Definitely recommend it.
It took a few tries to get the hang of it, but it's good now. I wish the lid screwed on, but placing something heavy on top works fine.
I use a water bottle to pour water into the small grooves. The lid doesn't need to snap shut tightly. After breaking up the ice, I just rinse and dry the ice cup, reinsert it, and refill. I store the ice in a small ziplock bag. I really like using it.
This ice bucket is just the right size and perfect for mobile use – at the park, beach, or on the back porch. They're great for picnics, easy to carry, and fit nicely in my cooler bag.
At first, I thought the novelty wore off and it only made half a batch. But once I figured out to keep the center bucket compressed, it worked perfectly. Now I can even drop a couple of these in my whiskey. It's way better than those huge ice cubes.
Gave this as a Christmas gift and they loved it. It works very well and they use it all the time.
They seem fine for our needs. The instructions said to put it in the refrigerator, which gave us a good laugh. We tested one in the fridge and one in the freezer.
Pretty pleased with this. I like to chew on ice at night but needed smaller cubes. The ice shape is nice and it's easy to use once you get the hang of it. It doesn't make a ton of ice, but enough for an evening.
Works pretty well. The inner bucket is easy to remove, and the silicone makes it easy to break the ice out. The only issue is having to weigh down the lid, as water sometimes gets under the bucket and freezes into a solid disc. Still, I liked it enough to order a second one.
The lid design could be better, it pops off sometimes, but otherwise, it serves its purpose. I use it for my iced coffee every morning.
It's a bit tricky to use, especially removing the inner plastic part to get to the ice.
It makes good ice. I like it.
I bought this based on search results. Once I got the hang of it, it's my new favorite gadget. Just fill it to the first level, press down the cup, and freeze. Once frozen, squeeze and push up from the bottom for easy release. Perfect ice every time!
I was skeptical at first, thought I'd wasted money, but it actually works pretty well. Not a lot of ice, but does what it says. Quite happy with it.
Just add water to the basin and push the plastic piece into place. Filling it by pouring down the sides is messy. Push the cup down and the water fills the mold perfectly.
This is great for my fridge freezer, saves a lot of space and is super easy to use. The kids love making ice with it now.
My mom got this for me after seeing it on TikTok. It works just like in the video, and I love crunching on the thin, round ice.
Very nice product, highly recommend.
I decided to keep it.
It's easy to use but really needs to come with instructions.
We live in the country with old pipes, so the auto ice maker is off. This was weird at first, but it works perfectly once you get the hang of it. Doesn't make too much ice at once but enough for about 4 people.
It's important to follow the instructions. I haven't ended up with a hockey puck at the bottom, and the ice cubes don't meld into a giant block. It's self-contained and no mess.
Our new place didn’t have an ice maker, so I bought this after seeing it on TikTok. It takes a bit to figure out the best method, but it's definitely worth it. Much better than traditional ice cube trays!
Despite some negative reviews, I find this product cool. I struggle with regular ice cube trays and bought this to make ice more easily. It's a bit of a struggle but manageable, and I can take the ice out myself. If I can do it, so can you! It's easy to use and I'd buy it again.
This is easy to use and the ice comes out easily. However, filling it can be tricky as the inside bucket doesn't always stay down, resulting in an ice disk at the bottom.
It fits perfectly in a tiny freezer, freezes fast, and the ice comes out easily. The molds are a bit larger than I'd prefer but still a good size. Filling it properly takes a bit of practice, but overall, I'm happy with it.
I love using it for my iced coffee in the morning. It makes enough ice for a single cup.
It takes a bit of getting used to, especially where to fill the water. Don’t overfill it and keep adding ice to the cup inside. Once you get used to it, you'll like it! It's better than nothing 😊
I bought it so I wouldn't have to buy ice every other day.
I think this product is a great idea but could be improved with a locking mechanism to keep the interior container fixed. If not sealed tightly, the water pushes up the interior bucket, leaving a big ice cube at the bottom. The lid doesn't prevent this. Filling it with water is a bit tricky, especially if there's already ice in the interior container.
